Growers club

I have long harboured an ambition to put together a club for vegetable growers to share experience, gain knowledge and check that what we are doing isn't totally mad...... and now  - here it is: we will be hosting 5 sessions through the year at 2 monthly intervals and then in December, committed members will be able to join us for a free session where we will review the year, talk in broad terms about what we have achieved and make grand plans for the year ahead....

Growing your own food is fundamental to regaining food resilience - so let's do it!

Friday 20th February 2026 - what's it all about:

I don't want to be too prescriptive about how the afternoon will go - but it will include the following:

1. A quick tour of the market garden to see what's been going on recently and what's planned for the coming couple of months
2. A look at what to sow and plant in the early part of the season and how best to do this - this will include some hands on work.
3. Composting and mulching 
4. A look at some specific tasks you might want to carry out at this time of year
5. Q and A session - please bring along any questions you have

There will be a short break at half time for tea and cake

Any profits that we make from these sessions will go towards our community outreach work including children's farm visits and community food projects that we are planning
