Our (Slow) organic journey

In June 2025 we were officially certified by the Soil Association as being "In conversion" to full organic status. This process will take 2 years but fear not - our produce will not be drenched in chemicals until then! We have NEVER used synthetic chemicals here and we have always purchased organic fruit, vegetables and ingredients if we have not had the produce growing here.

We are also members of the Slow Food movement that advocates for "good, clean and fair" food for all. Hurrah to that - you can read more about the movement here.

Growing without chemicals at Havenhills

Our promise to you

We only like to make promises that we can keep - and this one is easy: we shan't be using any synthetic fertiliser, pesticides or other nasties here at Havenhills. You are very welcome to come up and take a look: we have a stall here every Friday afternoon (in the Summer) from 4pm and if we're not too busy serving people, we would be very happy to show you round.
