How to cook inspiring vegetables and incorporate more beans into your diet
We are back with our second On the pulse workshop.
The morning will be begin with an introduction to cooking with vegetables, we will look at the basics, why we might want to eat more of them, ways we can eat more seasonally and how we can make them more exciting.
Beans, pulses and legumes are a massively underrated source of goodness. They are full of protein and fibre, absorb flavour and are very versatile. Not only highly nutritious they also are very good value.
We will dive into the world of legumes. We will play with different ways to cook them, how to store them, where to buy them and of course how to use them with vegetables.
This is a hands on course, we will be preparing food together which we will share over lunch. As with all our events it is casual and this one will be run in the kitchen of our home by Karen.
25th April 10-4pm
Arrive from 10am for a coffee and an introduction which will start at 10.15
Morning workshop: 10.30am - 1pm. We will cook up some seasonal vegetables, make hummus, and look at the different ways beans and pulses can be used.
1.pm lunch with the HFK team
2pm - 4pm (ish) - afternoon workshop. We will cook together something you can take home for supper.
