Growers club

This is the 3rd in our series of meetings this year. We're just past the solstice and we will be taking a close look at working with the calendar and some of the ancient practices that may help you to success in the gardening department

Friday 26th June 2026 - what's it all about:

I don't want to be too prescriptive about how the afternoon will go - but it will include the following:

1. A quick tour of the market garden to see what's been going on recently and what's planned for the coming couple of months at Havenhills
2. A look at successional sowing and planting.
3. Gardening using the almanac
4. How to handle your harvest including methods for storing and preserving
5. How to deal with pests and diseases.
6. A look at some specific tasks you might want to carry out at this time of year
7. Q and A session - please bring along any questions you have

There will be a short break at half time for tea and cake

Any profits that we make from these sessions will go towards our community outreach work including children's farm visits and community food projects that we are planning
