Growers club

It's high summer! Main crop harvests are well under way but that doesn't mean you can just cruise to the finish line.... Thinking ahead you will be planning for winter crops and ensuring that wherever you have cleared the ground you have something ready to come in and cover it -there is no rest for the wicked gardener!

Friday 21st August 2026 - what's it all about:

I don't want to be too prescriptive about how the afternoon will go - but it will include the following:

1. A quick tour of the market garden to see what's been going on recently and what's planned for the coming couple of months
2. Planning for the colder months - what to sow and when to plant out
3. What's harvestable at the moment and how to carry this out?
4. Keeping the compost going - and how to deal with kitchen waste. All of it!
5. Organic horticultural methods -why it's important and what can homeopathy bring to the party.
6. A look at some specific tasks you might want to carry out at this time of year
7. Q and A session - please bring along any questions you have

There will be a short break at half time for tea and cake

Any profits that we make from these sessions will go towards our community outreach work including children's farm visits and community food projects that we are planning
