Growing | cooking | gathering | connection
Join us for five enriching days dedicated to deepening our connection with food with a focus on growing and cooking vegetables. Over the course of the week, we will explore what we eat, how we eat, when we eat, and how to grow the food that will nourish us in more ways than just nutritionally. We will examine the wider issues around food, farming and diet so you will leave with a deeper understanding of natural systems, the importance of soil health and new ways of cooking with vegetables. We will also delve into the mental and spiritual dimensions of food. How what we eat connects us with nature, and how this connection can enhance our overall sense of well-being.
Throughout the week, we’ll also share insights into the history of food as well as our current food system, the latest discoveries in gut health, and explore how food impacts us in ways we’re only just beginning to understand.

Growing
Each day will include time in the garden, learning everything about growing food - from soil health to sowing, transplanting, watering, caring for plants, pest control and harvesting. We will explore different, sustainable methods of growing in harmony with nature. We will also take time to understand the soil as a complex ecosystem we are all part of, and discuss ways to care for it - because when we care for the soil, we are also caring for ourselves. This will help you understand your own garden and give you the knowledge and confidence to grow your own food.

Cooking
When it’s time to prepare meals, we’ll begin by harvesting fresh produce from the farm and use this to create delicious, nutritious, and wholesome lunches and dinners to share. In this hands-on experience, we’ll demonstrate a variety of inspiring, easy, and fun ways to cook with vegetables. We’ll also explore the basics of nutrition and how food affects us on a deeper level. By understanding these fundamentals, we’ll naturally feel more encouraged to eat nourishing, vegetable-rich meals.

Connection
As natural beings, we are inherently connected to nature on a cellular level. It's time to re-establish clear communication with the natural world and cleanse the channels between us. Food - from growing to preparing to sharing and eating - is the key communicator in this process.
Each day will be long with periods for relaxation and reflection as well as optional yoga with Sandra to begin the day.
